Advanced Solar Products

About Us

For over 20 years, Advanced Solar Products has led the way in solar energy design and construction using sustainable technologies.

As one of the largest solar integrators on the East Coast, we have installed over 40 megawatts of ground and roof-mounted PV systems ranging in size from under 10 kilowatts to over 14 megawatts.

We have been contracted for some of the highest profile solar jobs in the region including the installation of "the largest privately-owned, net-metered solar system in the Western Hemisphere," on the McGraw-Hill campus in East Windsor, NJ.

Our PV Mounting System

As an alternative to more invasive mounting systems the engineering team at Advanced Solar Products developed our proprietary SOLSTICE® PV Mounting System, a ballasted racking system that is easy to install, customizable in shape, and economical.

Our Team

Lyle K. Rawlings

P.E., President, and CEO

In 2007 the founder of Advanced Solar Products was called “the founding father of renewable energy legislation in New Jersey,” by New York Times Magazine, and he remains one of the nation’s leading professionals in the field of solar energy.

An engineer with 34 years of experience in renewable energy research, design, policy advocacy, and business, Mr. Rawlings has designed and managed some of the most challenging - and some of the most innovative - PV projects in the country.  In 2003 Mr. Rawlings served on Gov. McGreevy’s Renewable Energy Task Force, where he successfully campaigned for the creation of the state’s system of Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SREC’s). In 2009, Rawlings was a winner of the Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” award.

Lyle Rawlings was also the co-founder of the Mid-Atlantic Solar Energy Industries Association (MSEIA) where he was instrumental in the creation of the New Jersey solar energy program, which today leads the nation in solar energy industry growth. Mr. Rawlings continues to serve as Vice President and remains active in the creation and improvement of solar energy incentives, regulations and legislation in the region.

Mr. Rawlings received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from West Virginia University.  He holds one U.S. patent in photovoltaic module design and has another patent for an improved module mounting system.

Edward Seliga

Vice President and COO

Mr. Seliga has guided the growth and success of Advanced Solar Products since 2000, and has served as Vice President and COO for over seven years.

With a Civil Engineering degree from Princeton University, he has managed engineering projects in the commercial real estate industry for over 23 years, with a particular focus on environmental and energy system improvements for commercial facilities.

Seliga has long been committed to and involved in the New Jersey Green Building movement.  After serving six years as Board member, he is currently treasurer of the U.S. Green Building Council – NJ Chapter.  For the Somerset County business Partnership, he is a Board member, executive committee member and Chair of “Sustainable Somerset.”  He is also currently a member of the Rutgers Univ./Bloustein School team, drafting a NJ “Green Building” manual for the NJ Department of Community Affairs.
